A Real Baby

Adam is always very careful when he holds and rocks his own baby (baby doll). The other day he got to hold a real baby. He was extra careful to be gentle and soft! Now he constantly talks about holding Baby Ry Ry (Ryan).

More Birthday Fun!

We surprised Paul and one of our best friends, Jason, with a small birthday party (their birthdays are a week apart). The golf theme was a huge success. Not only did they love their priceless gift certificates for a round of golf (compliments of Amy), but they also had fun sharing their yummy golf course brownie cake (compliments of Kim).

Paul and Jason weren't the only ones who had a good time at their birthday celebration. The kids had lots of fun playing together. And Kim and Amy enjoyed a night doing their favorite activity--talking.

Birthday Celebration

For Paul's birthday we went to his favorite restaurant in Milwaukee: Uno's Pizza! We ordered our favorites -- BBQ chicken with pineapple in a deep dish crust and potato skins. Mmmmmm! Afterward, for his birthday treat, we picked up some delicious smoothies. Happy Birthday Paul!!!

Quilts

Today was our stake Relief Society activity to celebrate the completion of our humanitarian project. Each ward was asked to make 20 baby quilts for the humanitarian center. As it turned out, the wards altogether made over 180 quilts and exceeded our goal by more than 20! Here are the 3 quilts Kim and Amy made together, even working into the wee hours of the morning (past 1am!) to make them perfect.

Shaving

The battery in Paul's razor gets used up twice as fast these days. After Paul shaves each morning, it's Adam's turn.

Golf Swing

Paul enjoys teaching Adam the essentials of life. Of course, swinging a golf club is very near the top of the list. Adam, however, still gets his sports mixed up a bit. Or, he's just decided that combining fencing, golf, football, and baseball into one activity is a lot more fun.

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Not only does Adam like to dance to music, but he likes to sing now, too. This is his favorite song--or songs--a medley Adam made up himself. :)

Another Zoo Trip

As you know, Adam loves the zoo. The other day we went with our friends, the Kearls. Adam's two favorite activities were seeing the elephants and doing everything Nathan did. Both Adam and Nathan also enjoyed watching the bear swim in the pool and having the gorilla walk right up to the window!

Trains and Garages

Since riding the train at the zoo, Adam has turned his "rows" into "trains." He used every car he has to make this train!

Adam has also learned that cars park in garages. When we take walks around the neighborhood, he likes to point out all of the garages and tell us if they are open or closed. Today, Adam made his own car garage. He even pushed the imaginary buttons to open and close the door.

The Zoo

We went to the zoo today. While exploring the farm area, we made some great discoveries. Adam was very excited to learn that the zoo has a playground and several trucks to drive.

In addition to seeing the animals, we also rode on the train for the first time. Adam was very excited to get on, but then became nervous when the train started moving. He felt better sitting next to Mommy and he must have had fun because he keeps talking about it.

Birthday Treat

In honor of Paul's birthday and upcoming graduation, Kim got him a little bigger gift than usual--a new set of wheels!

Unfortunately for Paul, his new car was only to be for a week. Kim had made special arrangements to reserve a Rav4 as our rental car while in Omaha searching for a home. It just happened that the one we got was brand new! Maybe next year Paul will get to keep his birthday present a little longer than a week. :) Congratulations on your recent achievements, Paul!

"Agase"

No, this is not Adam's word for "alligators." Instead, it is the word he said every morning when he woke up at our hotel in Omaha--"elevators." He always wanted to go ride the elevators. We would often tell him "soon" after we were dressed and ready for breakfast. Now that we're home he continues to ask if he can ride the "agase." When we tell him we don't have an elevator, his response is "soon." Boy, is he going to be disappointed when he learns our new home in Omaha doesn't have an elevator either.

House Hunting

After weeks of on-line research, the creation of multiple lists, innumerous phone calls, and a whirlwind 4-day search in Omaha we finally found our new home (it's the townhome on the left)!

Singing Songs #1

Adam loves to sing songs. Here are two of his favorites.

Relaxing with a Book

Adam likes to sit in the rocking chair to read his stories. Despite the fact that his feet don't even come to the edge of the chair, he still insists that we recline it back.

Rows

Adam loves to make rows lately. And he uses just about anything to make them . . .

April Fool's Day

It was April Fool's Day today. As always, Mommy had a little surprise for Paul and Adam at dinner time. Adam was very excited to use his grown up utensils. For some reason, Paul was not quite as excited with his miniaturized dinner arrangements.

At least one thing's for sure--they were both VERY surprised! Happy April Fool's Day!

Adam's Latest Discovery

Adam discovered his shadow today. What a cute guy!
