Moving Day

After an eventful graduation, we woke up early Saturday morning to pack the moving truck. All of Paul's packing preparations paid off! Between our two cars and the 16-foot truck, we made everything fit.

Mader's

To celebrate Paul's graduation, we all went to dinner at Mader's (one of Milwaukee's most well-known German restaurants). The food was wonderful! After dinner, we posed for a family picture in this enourmous chair.

The Big Day!

The day we've all been waiting for . . .

It was a wonderful day! Congratulations Paul (aka Dr. Morrison)!!! We love you!!!

2 Years Old!

We celebrated Adam's birthday a few days early this year (we will be moving on his real birthday). Adam had a great day! He was very excited to see the birthday decorations when he woke up and the day got even better when we picked up Grammy and Granddad from the airport.
Adam loved opening his birthday package from Grandma and Grandpa. His smile shows you how excited he was to open his new music set complete with a drum, tambourine, maracas and a harmonica.Later that night the fun continued when we celebrated with Adam's favorite friends: Chelsey, Emily and Ryan. The car cake Mommy made was a great success and everyone enjoyed playing with Adam's new bowling set and race car track.

FHE

Tonight we had Family Home Evening with our friends, The Hymas's. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun during the lesson about our bodies.

And of course no FHE is complete until you play stop and go.

Practice Run

Paul found a great deal on the Internet for a 16-foot moving truck. It's going to be a VERY tight fit, but we're determined to make it work since it's saving us a lot of money. As part of our preparation, Paul created a computer file diagraming how everything needs to be arranged in the truck. He even practiced packing part of the truck in our living room! This may sound crazy, but it's going to make moving day much easier.

The Farm

Today for playgroup we visited a farm. Adam wasn't so sure about the goats, but he loved feeding the chickens. Of course another favorite activity was driving the tractor.

What a Life!

Adam sure knows how to sit back, relax, and enjoy life!

The Zoo Again!

We had another fun trip to the zoo this week! Whenever we ask Adam if he wants to go for a walk or play outside, he always asks to see the animals. He really loves the zoo! This time we went with his good friends - Chelsey, Emily, and Ryan.

Birthday #2!

Paul is always coming up with creative ways to decorate for Kim's special day. This year Kim woke up to find 100 streamers hanging from the living room ceiling! He was also creative with Kim's cake this year. Kim was presented with 25 flaming candles atop a round loaf of Great Harvest's delectable Oregon Herb bread. (Paul actually requested this "cake" for his birthday, but Kim decided it didn't fit the "treat" category and made a brownie cake instead.) Paul decided this was the perfect occasion to show her what a delicious birthday treat a loaf of bread can be. And he was right--it was a great treat! In addition to delicious bread, we went out to dinner at Penelope's, a fun favorite restaurant of ours, and got ice cream cones for dessert.

Stacking Cups

Adam's stacking cups are one of his favorite toys. He's had them almost since birth. He has gone from chewing on them, to knocking down towers, to playing with them in the bathtub. Now he has learned to actually stack them and build his own towers while naming the colors. What great progress!

The ABCs

Trying to capture this song on video was a challenge. You'll have to listen close! One of our favorite parts is "L," "M," "N," "O," and "P". See if you're quick enough to catch it!

Moving Boxes

We wondered if Adam would be a little nervous with the constantly shifting chaos in our home as we pack everything up and prepare to move. Instead, he loves it, especially all the great boxes! He has found MANY uses for them. They make great cars, they are lots of fun to push around the house, and they're perfect for climbing. He even discovered how to use his music push toy as a dolly (without any help from us)! It looks like he's going to be a great help on moving day!
